I have recently been undertaking a review of software applications with the view to working in a collaborative environment, and I was amazed at the number of good, quality products available. The growth of software, has, at times lagged appreciably behind the advances made in hardware. With the development of Word processors such as MS Word, Word Perfect and their associated office packages, the world probably, and rightly so, thought that this was the pinnacle of office applications.

These applications were, in most cases, PC specific, and offered very little in way of collaboration, and it was not until the development of office networks that business started to consider the work flow process. (more…)
