Attention all “smartphone” users

We are finally looking at escaping the clutches of the evil Telco Corporation after our 2009 International Roaming debacle. So, we are in the market for new mobile phone handsets.

If it comes to choosing a phone operated by a system (OS) created by Uncle Bill and the gang or an alternative then we are with the alternative. The Android OS for smartphones is really coming of age. Version 2.1 is about to be released and the range of manufacturers offering handsets for this OS is growing. Check this out. We “occasionally” insert some IT stuff into our blog. Are you looking to try the Android Operating System on a Smartphone? This was the title of a really interesting post I found on CNet Australia’s website. This is one of the best recent reviews I have come across on the Android operating system for Smartphones.

As a small business person I am into supporting anything OpenSource, be it Linux, Wikipedia, LifeRay (Go SpannerMan!) etc. While Android is not really open source, if it comes to buying from Uncle Bill or the Team from within the Googleplex I am all for going with Darth Vader!
